So let's think, Jesus says to a man who has excess of possessions and money, Give them away!
The prophet Isaiah writes a word from God saying he Turns away because when it comes down to it all you want is PROFIT!
So, living in excess?
Everyone is freaking out because the 'end day' is near. Let's believe that's true for a second.
How many people have you seen naked or wearing barely anything?
How many people have you seen homeless?
How many people do you walk past who are hungry?
How many people have you ignored because they're imprisoned?
How many people have you seen homeless?
How many people do you walk past who are hungry?
How many people have you ignored because they're imprisoned?
How many thirsty people have you given a drink to?
How many sick have you gone to be with?
It seems to me that these people who are freaking out about the world ending should be freaking out about the fact that if they haven't done these things, Jesus will look at them with tears in his eyes and say:
I didn't know you! When I was cold and naked, you gave me nothing. You saw me homeless and kept walking! You saw me sitting there, skinny and faint, but offered me no food! When I was alone and bitter in prison, you told yourself it wasn't your responsibility to go and see me! When I was thirsty and needed a drink, you drank your drink and refused to share. When I was lying in bed, afraid and ill, you stayed at home and didn't come and see me.
whadda cutie huh? |
The point of Jesus isn't hopeless, He didn't come to set a bunch of rules. He came to rescue us from hell, which is what we deserve for our sins. Jesus Saves.
Let's see where He leads me
